HOOF TRIMMING
PROCEDURES
Hoof trimming is an essential part of
caring for your goat. It should be done about once every three
months, but may vary according to the individual goat, the terrain
and weather conditions. Without proper trimming, the hooves will
become cracked, overgrown, bent and infected (hoof rot). Untrimmed
hooves can actually cripple your goat. To do a good job, you will
need a pair of good trimmers (#27A), a hoof pick (#26K) and either a
hoof file (#27F) or a hoof plane (#27P).
