CLEAN-UP TIME
Following a sound clean-up routine
reduces the risk of milkstone build-up. Immaculate milk handling is
essential to producing wholesome, good tasting milk that has a long
shelf life. Our high quality, concentrated cleaning products are
made specifically for dairying, unlike dish detergent and laundry
bleach from the grocery store.
Rinse
utensils thoroughly with warm (110°-120°F) water to remove milk
residue immediately after milking. Water that is too hot or too cold
will "glue" the proteins and fat onto the utensils. (Never
scald utensils until they have been properly rinsed and washed.)
After
rinsing thoroughly, hand wash with Powdered Dairy Soap (#12G) and
air or towel dry.
Mist
all utensils with Powdered Dairy Sanitizer (#12F) diluted and
dispensed from a spray bottle (#21E-1) just before milking and
processing. Allow the dilute solution to remain on all surfaces that
come in contact with the milk. The sanitizer is very dilute, never
lends any flavor to the milk and ensures the lowest possible
bacteria count.
Use
Foaming Acid Detergent (#12G-1) once a week in place of Powdered
Dairy Soap to further prevent the possibility of milkstone build-up.
